When Costco asked the R. Sabee Company to produce multi-purpose absorbent pads for its private label Kirkland Signature brand, they turned to us for the packaging design. With 680 warehouses around the world and the second largest retailer in the United States, we knew the Costco opportunity was huge for our client.
We performed initial research at Costco stores to better understand how existing Kirkland Signature brands are positioned in a variety of categories. With that insight, we began the design of the packaging, while strictly adhering to Costco’s Kirkland Signature brand standards.
Once the initial concepts were developed and approved by R. Sabee, artwork was sent to Costco’s packaging graphics staff for their buy-in. When all of the art was approved and confirmed to meet Kirkland standards, final art was sent to the liner-board printer.
As was expected, sales have been exceptionally strong, with reorders pouring in from Costco stores throughout the country. Recently, native language labels have been added to the packaging for sale in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
